Teddy Bears & Tea Cups, located on Balboa Island, is a tea room and boutique that has been a delight for locals and visitors alike since it opened in 1999.  It is a wonderland for all ages.  The original vision behind the store was to provide a venue to display a fine antique doll collection, including many Madame Alexander’s First Ladies, Princess Diana, Shirley Temple, Dionne Quintuplets, Kewpie Dolls and many more unique and one of a kind dolls.

 

Teddy Bears & Tea Cups is a thriving boutique showcasing hundreds of whimsical dolls and teddy bears, fantasy dress-up outfits, exquisite baby gifts and all things tea. We specialize in Gund, Steiff, Madame Alexander, Adora, Corolle, Silver Cross Prams, Little Giraffe, Baby Bling Pacifiers, Petunia Pickle Bottom & Ju·Ju·Be Diaper Bags and so much more! There are many tea pots, tea cups and tea sets to choose from- for both children and adults including Royal Doulton, Royal Albert, Mud Pie, Tea for Two, Tender Heart Treasures, Delton, Camp Grandma &   Victoria’s Garden.

 

While it is worth a stop to enjoy the Doll Museum and store alone, what makes us unique is our delightful, intimate garden tea & party room. Often, as you enter the store, the enticing smell of freshly baked scones, cakes or cookies from our favorite recipes greet you. Whether celebrating with a birthday party or afternoon tea, you are treated to delectable sandwiches, such as cucumber dill, tomato basil and fruited, cashew chicken salad.  Children’s plates offer kid-friendly, artfully decorated tea sandwiches and fruit.  For your tea selection, there are dozens of tea varieties- including traditional Earl Grey and English Breakfast, tisanes, rooibos, white and green teas and the  popular fruit infusions.

 

In addition to our afternoon teas, we offer  children’s fantasy Birthday Parties, Baby  & Bridal Showers, Red Hat Society gatherings and teas for any occasion where the magic of make believe can add that extra special touch.  Our children’s party themes include our long popular Princess, Victorian, Teddy Bear and Pink Paradise as well as Mad Hatter Tea Party, Under-the-Sea Mermaid Tea and Flower Fairy Tea.
